Lincoln Trail

The Lincoln Trail Chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees had a Christmas service project to either donate the carry out containers for Warm Blessings or donate money to Warm Blessings.  Shown in the picture are Judith Lesher, President of the Lincoln Trail Chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees and Linda Funk, Director at Warm Blessings receiving the donations.

State Representative Terry Mills was our speaker. He provided

answers to our Committee questions:

1. Full ARC—Yes. This is already in the law but not in the budget. We will get pension checks but no COLA.

2. Extra funding—The retirement system needs cash and he is opposed to borrowing.

3. Funding sources—Yes. Source for funding would be expanded gaming.

4. Increased employee contributions—He is opposed to this. There is an inviolable contract.

5. Hybrid plan—This can provide as good or better retirement plan.

6. Benefit assurance—No reduction of benefits.

The Lincoln Trail Chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees will meet Monday, August 10, 2015 at Golden Corral, 1835 North Dixie Avenue, Elizabethtown, KY. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. EST.

Our speaker will be Representative Jim DuPlessis (pictured).


The Lincoln Trail Chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees met at Golden Corral on Monday, July 13, 2015.  The annual $500.00 scholarship was presented to Amelia Long, grand-daughter of Leo Lewis.  Mary Dick, Treasurer of the Lincoln Trail Chapter presented the scholarship check.
The Lincoln Trail Chapter meets the second Monday of each month at Golden Corral in Elizabethtown at 11:30 a.m.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2015.  The speaker will be Representative Jim DuPlessis.
KPR is a non-profit organization established to support and protect the benefits of current and future government retirees.  Members include those eligible for retirement under the Kentucky Employees Retirement Systems, County Employees Retirement Systems, State Police Retirement Systems or the spouse of any of these systems.
