About KPR

 

Kentucky Public Retirees is a non-profit organization of retired Kentucky government employees whose mission is to actively support the protection of our retirement benefits.

Kentucky Public Retirees is organized to:

  • Protect and preserve our retirement benefits
  • Represent and promote the interests of retirees before the General Assembly, Kentucky Public Pension Authority, and other agencies
  • Provide advice and consultation to public officials in matters such as health insurance and retiree needs
  • Promote harmony among members of all the retirement systems and provide an outlet for fellowship and community service for retirees
  • Work with other organizations on the local, state, and national levels
  • Provide an achievement and humanitarian awards program
  • Provide a lobbyist to appear on our behalf before the General Assembly

Kentucky Public Retirees has approximately 3500 members across the state. All Kentucky counties are represented by a KPR Chapter which have monthly meetings at locations convenient to our members. Each year, we have our Annual Meeting for all members.

KPR sends informative email alerts to members who have subscribed to our email News Bulletins. These bulletins are usually directly from President Larry Totten and are sent to inform members of immediate and important issues of interest to all Kentucky public retirees and are a cost-effective means of communicating with our members. About our newsletter, The Kernel

Each quarter, KPR publishes a newsletter which is sent to all our members either through email or postal mail. The newsletter contains timely information about the activities of the organization during the past quarter.
